Dr Baba will undertake a history of your condition and also perform an examination as well as review your scans.
If required, he may refer you to have more scans / tests to identify the exact problem.
Dr Baba works with team of nurses, physios and therapists and they may be involved in seeing you as well to better treat your condition.
Dr Baba is involved in teaching and research. He may be accompanied by Medical students and / or training surgeons who may wish to see you. If you do not feel comfortable with this, please notify us.
Dr Baba and his team will provide you with information about the surgery and what to expect afterwards. This includes information brochures and videos so you can be better informed.

The anaesthetist may want to discuss with you prior to your surgery the type of anaesthetic you may require and may order further tests if you have any complex medical problems.
Most medications DO NOT need to be stopped. But it is best to discuss with Dr Baba’s team prior to surgery.
This depends on the type of surgery. Most hand and wrist operations are day only. You go home the same day. For some shoulder and elbow operations, you may need to stay one night in hospital.
Whilst in hospital, Dr Baba or a member of his team will see you prior to your discharge. We will provide information regarding your follow up appointment within 1-2 weeks after surgery.
You will be given painkillers on discharge. If your run out of painkillers prior to seeing Dr Baba for your follow up appointment, your GP can issue you a new script.
Your dressings often DON’T need to be changed until you see Dr Baba.
This depends on the type of surgery you have had and how far down the track you are. Dr Baba will give you the referral for physiotherapy/hand therapy if you need one.
